Richard Reynolds

AMFT

I'm Richard Reynolds, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT). Working with individuals and couples brings me immense joy. In therapy, I strive to bring hope, humor, and compassion to the therapeutic process. I hold a deep belief in the inherent strength and resilience of human beings. As a therapist, I have the privilege of witnessing people's goodness, strength, and resilience in the face of adversity and challenges. This front-row seat to their personal growth is truly inspiring.

Throughout my experience, I have worked with individuals dealing with trauma, anxiety, depression, low sexual desire, relationship problems, unwanted pornography use, and out-of-control sexual behaviors. I firmly believe that people are fundamentally good and worthy, and that many of our "dysfunctions" are adaptive responses to adverse or traumatic experiences. This belief forms the foundation of my open, compassionate, and non-judgmental approach to therapy.

I place great emphasis on establishing a safe, connected, and meaningful therapeutic relationship with my clients. It is within this therapeutic alliance that healing can occur. I hold a B.S. in Psychology from BYU and an M.A. in Marriage & Family Therapy from Northcentral University. Additionally, I have received training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).

When I'm not seeing clients, I enjoy spending quality time with my wife and two children. Playing the guitar, immersing myself in nature, working on cars, creating videos, and indulging in audiobooks are some of the activities that bring me joy and fulfillment.

With six years of experience in therapy, I have successfully helped individuals and couples overcome various challenges, including trauma, anxiety, depression, communication issues, unwanted pornography use, sexual desire differences, and sexual dysfunctions. My therapeutic approach centers around emotionally focused therapy, which aims to cultivate relationship trust, emotional safety, and effective communication within couples.

When working with clients, I maintain an open-minded and compassionate attitude, providing a nonjudgmental and affirming space for their healing and growth.
