Kate Handy

I'm Kate Handy, a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) practicing in the state of Utah. My specialization lies in addressing a range of challenges related to sexual health and relationships, including difficulties in desire, arousal, orgasm, pain, sexual communication, and out-of-control/unwanted sexual behavior. My primary focus is on working with couples who are navigating issues within their sexual relationship, such as disparities in sexual desire, challenges experiencing pleasure or achieving orgasm, and addressing sexual pain. I have had the privilege of helping numerous couples overcome these obstacles, enabling them to cultivate sexually fulfilling and deeply connected relationships.

In my therapeutic approach, I draw from a variety of effective methods, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I also incorporate the Sexual Attentiveness and Accountability Model to address sexual concerns comprehensively.

I hold a deep belief in the importance of forming genuine and connected relationships with my clients. I find inspiration in witnessing the resilience of individuals and couples as they work through their challenges. Central to my practice is the belief that all people inherently strive to be good to themselves and others, serving as a guiding principle in the therapy I provide.
