Most Latter-day Saint couples were taught a great deal about chastity before marriage and very little about intimacy after it. This workbook was created to fill that gap.
Written by Anthony Hughes, PhD, LMFT, CST, a certified sex therapist who works specifically with members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, this guided workbook helps married couples build a deeper, more connected intimate life grounded in the covenants they have made with each other and with Heavenly Father.
You do not need to be in crisis to use it. Many of the couples who benefit most are the ones who love each other deeply and simply want more closeness, more honest conversation, and a marriage that keeps growing.
The workbook covers five areas:
Knowing each other more deeply, including the stories and messages you both brought into marriage about sex and closeness. Desire and differences, so you can name what is real without blame or shame. Communication and vulnerability, with a structure for the conversations most couples never quite figure out how to have. Faith, shame, and healing, including how gospel teachings about the body and the covenant can free you rather than limit you. And finally, a shared vision and practical commitments so the growth you do here carries forward into your everyday life together.
Each section includes guided reflection questions, rating scales, and writing prompts designed to be completed together over several sittings.
